Parts of the Management Group, together with Kommunal Sollefteå, invited our assistants in the area to a theme meeting to talk about a sustainable and good work environment. We quickly realized that we have the same overall goals, including that all our assistants should have a really good and sustainable work environment, that we want to strengthen personal assistance as a profession, that we want the assistance compensation to be increased in order to improve the salary situation for assistants in Sweden and at Carelli.
This meeting was part of our joint responsibility to create the best possible solutions going forward for both our employed assistants but also for the profession nationally. We as employers and municipalities are two different parties and we have both different perspectives and missions. This means that we do not always agree on the solutions, but we at Carelli assistans think it is important that we can work together with respect and with an understanding of each other's missions and opportunities in order to create the best solutions.
Carelli Assistans sees the importance of working together with trade unions, other assistance companies and interest associations to create better conditions in the field of disability and personal assistance, to make visible what important and rewarding work personal assistance is and to strengthen the status of the profession. As an employer, we therefore find it very gratifying that so many of our employees are involved in the union, whether in the form of membership, local union assignments, etc.
We at Carelli also think that the issue of vocational training in the form of Personal Assistance would be interesting and significant in order to create a strengthened professional role but also to strengthen assistance in Sweden. This is something that we hope to pursue in the future.
