What does an IVO permit for personal assistance mean?

A company that organizes personal assistance needs to have a permit from the Inspectorate for Health and Social Care (IVO) to provide personal assistance. This means that IVO makes an assessment that the owner, board/management and manager have knowledge and adequate insight into the laws and regulations that apply to the business. That the company has policies, guidelines and procedures to meet good quality requirements based on the National Board of Health and Welfare's directives. The company must be able to demonstrate that it has the prerequisites for organizing personal assistance and that employer responsibility is adequate. Once a license has been granted, IVO carries out inspections to check that the company continues to comply with the laws and regulations that apply. Sometimes they carry out inspections because someone has reported a deficiency, an abuse or other irregularity that needs to be investigated, sometimes random inspections are carried out.

How does Carelli work to ensure that the requirements for IVO authorization are met?

This is done through our internal support functions, which are responsible for ensuring that the quality required for the license to provide assistance exists and that it is constantly strengthened and complies with the requirements and rules that exist. In order to ensure these requirements the whole company works together to ensure the safety ofn. This means that whether you work as a personal assistant, supervisor, area manager, quality developer/HR, coordinator, quality and operations manager or CEO, you undertake to follow current policies and procedures and report any deviations or deficiencies and work together to ensure that the business meets the requirements required for the licenses.

Carelli reports to municipalities in regular contract follow-ups on what policies and procedures are in place. We also report how we work with deviations, customer and employee satisfaction, etc. If these follow-ups show that any of our processes are unclear or if there is a missing procedure, this helps us to become aware of it and give us the opportunity to be able to fix it immediately. We see this as an extra security for us and you that our work meets the high requirements that exist in order to be allowed to perform the important assignment as an assistance provider.

Which municipalities does Carelli have agreements with?

Carelli has agreements with 12 municipalities from Sollefteå in the north to Trelleborg in the south. The fact that these municipalities have chosen us means that we have met their extensive quality requirements. The agreements may look a little different, but it means that we are the municipality's provider in cases where a person entitled to assistance chooses the municipality as the provider of personal assistance.

How does Carelli work to ensure quality for the customer?

Carelli Assistans lays the foundation for the customer to have the opportunity for increased quality of life and high quality in their assistance through our approach to systematic quality management. We have a quality department that works with managers to ensure that we comply with laws and guidelines and that we have procedures in place to do so. They also provide support to managers on many operational issues. You as a customer are involved in drawing up the implementation plan, which lays the foundation for what we will achieve together and in what way.

How does Carelli ensure that you as a client are involved in your personal assistance?

Based on the fact that we have a high quality of our assistance where we have established procedures and policies that comply with current legislation, we can put a lot of focus on adapting the Personal Assistance based on each customer's needs and decisions. This means that you decide how involved you want to be in your assistance and what influence you want to have in all parts. For example, you can be involved in deciding which personal assistants will work with you, and you are involved in deciding how your assistance allowance will be used. The list goes on, but the rule is that you have a say in everything you want and you leave the rest to us.
